This original hand-drawn color illustration by Moira Wallace (1910 - 1979) dates to around 1930 when the young artist was living in Los Angeles and working as an art director for the billboard advertising firm Foster & Kleiser. Moira moved with her family to Hollywood, renting a place under the Hollywood sign near the residence of movie-star actress Belle Bennett. Moira co-starred in a silent film with Bennett when the young artist was just 5 years old, but stayed friends into adulthood bonded by their beauty and artistry.
